Wolf & Ryan is closed for the holidays until Tue, Jan 4, 2022. See you all next year!

UPDATE: Masks now required inside until further notice.

UPDATE:

It’s that time we’ve all been waiting for. Most COVID regulations have been lifted! Yay! Thankfully our state board has lifted mask regulations for vaccinated individuals.  But before we turn the salon into a rave party like Ibiza on spring break, let’s go over a few things first. Masks will no longer be required for fully vaccinated individuals and our waiting area will be open. We aren’t going to ask if you’re vaccinated; so we are all on the honor system. If you still prefer to wear a mask, that is also okay. We can have the stylist performing your service mask up as well.  And if you still want to wait in the car until your appointment, that is also okay. You can just call us and let us know your preferences when you arrive. However, if you aren’t fully vaccinated, a mask is still required. Don’t worry, we won’t judge you if you have a mask on for any reason.  As long as we all do our part to stay safe, that is all that matters.  We still want you to feel comfortable  and as we enter a new chapter and restrictions come to an end, we all have to adjust. It’s honestly a big adjustment for us too; just like in the beginning when we had to wear masks in the first place. Thanks for trusting us with your hair: and for the last 12 months with your safety. We take that trust seriously and we don’t take it for granted. We never could have made it through any of this without your support. Now, we are looking forward to a new phase of life and seeing everyone’s beautiful smile.

UPDATE ON MASK GUIDANCE:

As we all know by now, the CDC and our state government have lifted some of the mask restrictions put in place as a COVID containment measure. The current guidance is that fully vaccinated individuals may remain unmasked in public and do not have to follow distancing guidelines. For businesses like ours, where we face the public, this type of restriction or lack thereof can be confusing so we wanted to be clear and lay out the policy we will follow and require all of our customers to follow.

Masks will still be required by all individuals vaccinated or not. All of our staff are fully vaccinated and we realize most of you probably are as well. However, we can’t be the vaccine police; nor do we want to jeopardize anyone who has not yet been able to receive a vaccine. So, hang in there. Currently, it looks like Governor Beshear is going to lift the mask and distancing regulations on June 11th. On that date, if it stays in place, we will also lift our mask policies (provided that the Kentucky State Board of Hairdressers and Cosmetologists amends their policy to reflect Governor Beshear’s decision). Until then, we will adhere strictly to the current policy regarding masks. We will also continue to issue updates as things may change.

Over the last 14 months, we had to adapt quickly to new regulations as they rolled out; and now we must again adapt quickly to the changes as regulations get lifted. We want to sincerely thank everyone that has trusted our policies through this pandemic and we can’t be grateful enough that all of you have given us your trust to handle this with confidence. Our commitment to sanitation and safety was always a top priority before the pandemic and will continue to be in the future. Some things will stay the same and some will change but our sanitation will always and forever be a top priority.

Our salon is mandated by the CDC, our state and local governments as well as the Kentucky State Board of Hairdressers and Cosmetologists; and of course, ourselves. Often, regulations between these agencies doesn’t coordinate perfectly. First and foremost we must follow the regulations of the Kentucky State Board of Hairdressers and Cosmetologists above all else. They issue our licenses after all. We have not received word as of yet that they have changed any policy in light of the new regulations from the CDC and our state government. Internally, however, we are making a few changes. So here is what stays and what goes.

Policies that go unchanged for now:

  • Masks required

  • Client Questionnaire prior to arrival

  • Call upon arrival

  • Waiting room is closed

  • Come alone to your appointment (unless accompanying a minor or other types of need)

Policy that changes:

  • Temperature checks are no longer required

New Policy:

  • Beverage service on request (This is not an excuse to keep your mask down. Take a sip and pull it back up please.)

Again, we sincerely thank all of you for trusting us with your safety. We are gonna get through this. We are gonna get through this together.

UPDATE: Covid Update

We have made a few policy changes to the ones below and we wanted to give you an update on how things are operating at Wolf & Ryan.

Call us before you enter please!

Per the Kentucky State Board, our waiting area must remain closed. For this reason, we need to make sure we are ready to start the service as soon as you enter the salon. Technically speaking, we aren’t allowed to have anyone wait in our waiting area and we are adhering strictly to this mandate. If you walk, bike or uber to the salon, we also don’t want you to wait in the cold so just let us know your estimated arrival time and we will do our absolute best to accommodate you at that time. It also helps if you let us know at the time of making the appointment that you will be on foot, bike or uber. You can also make a note on your appointment when you book online. We always read the notes so thanks for all the info you already give us!

Blow Drys are back!!

After some extensive research and the effectiveness of masks, we made the decision to bring back blow drying in the salon.

Temp checks! (and hand washing)

We have committed to checking everyone’s temperature as they enter the salon. We feel this extra measure is necessary. Also, after we check your temp, you will be asked to wash your hands in the restroom and then your hairdresser will guide you to the chair to begin the service.

Also, we want to thank everyone that has cancelled an appointment because of Covid exposure. We require you to cancel if you have been exposed or if you feel sick, have a cough, or are living with someone who is in quarantine. Thanks for keeping us all safe and stopping the spread of this virus.

We are continuing to implement all of the policies outlined below and as always you can just call and ask us about how we are operating during this time.

UPDATE: New Policy

Here at Wolf & Ryan, we have been working very diligently on our reopen and we can’t wait to see all of you! Like everything else, there will be a “new normal” for us as well. We want to clearly lay out those changes in detail so there aren’t any surprises on your next visit. Let’s get right to it.

For our new policy changes there are 2 types of policy change. First and foremost are the mandatory changes from the Kentucky State Board of Hairdressers and Cosmetologists. We will adhere strictly to those guidelines set forth by Gov. Beshear and the State Board. The other, is us. We have decided that along with mandated changes, we want to go above and beyond regulations to ensure the safety of our staff, all of you, and all of our families. Absolutely none of this policy is negotiable.

Every single staff member at Wolf & Ryan has been tested for COVID-19. Thankfully, we have all tested negative. Also, each of us has completed COVID-19 Barbicide certification. We have all been trained to a national standard to mitigate risks significantly through the use of proper infection control and standards. We have committed to continual testing for ourselves for COVID-19 on a biweekly basis while we remain open to ensure the safety of everybody. Neither of these things have been required of us, but we feel it is our standard.

We will still provide extraordinary service while keeping our staff and clients healthy.

Let’s talk about masks.

Masks:

If you’re one of those people who doesn’t wear a mask in public, sorry. Masks are required by the State Board for clients and staff. There is no way to social distance while cutting or coloring hair.

All employees will be wearing protective face covering at all times.

All clients are required to wear protective face coverings at all times.

Client masks must follow these guidelines:

1.) Loop around the ear. (we cannot perform services if the mask has a strap that goes behind your head)

2.) Disposable: your mask WILL be stained by hair color during a color service. The straps behind your ear will get color on them. We warned you.

We have a LIMITED number of disposable masks available but please try to bring your own.

When you show up for your appointment

1.) Please call the salon once you park your vehicle or walk up

2.)We will guide you on wether to enter immediately or wait until your service can begin

*Please arrive alone. No guests are permitted to enter the salon with you. This includes anyone of any age and all pets (excluding certified service animals)

If you don’t feel well, don’t come. Think about the staff, our elderly clients and our children.

What to expect

  • Don’t come if you don’t feel well.

  • Masks are mandatory for stylist and client

  • 6ft social distancing with exception of you and your stylist

  • When you arrive, wait in your car, call the salon and we will provide further instructions

  • Beverage service suspended

  • You must answer a questionnaire before you enter when you call us.

  • Capes are laundered and disinfected before each client

  • Hand sanitizer is available throughout the salon. Please wash hands upon arrival

  • Please leave unnecessary carry personal belongings in the car.

  • We love you. Please, no hugs and no handshakes

UPDATE: Reopen procedure

The Wolfpack cant wait to get back at it! And on May 25th, we don't have to wait any longer. All of you have been very patient with us, and for that, we thank you sincerely. We’re still going to need some patience and understanding as we put everything together so we wanted to reach out and let you know how we are going about our reopen and some changes to our policy. As COVID-19 began to take hold of the bluegrass, we implemented new procedural changes to our daily operations. We will keep much of our policy before we closed along with some additional changes. These new changes are in coordination with and mandated by the Kentucky State Board of Cosmetology and our state government.

There is a lot to talk about so lets get to those changes/updates first.

  • Wearing a face mask AT ALL TIMES in the salon will be required. All of our staff will be wearing a mask and if you do not have a mask to wear, we can provide one.

  • Please don't come in with gloves. We will provide gloves for you if you wish to wear them. Wearing gloves is not mandatory.

  • Come to your appointment alone.

  • You will need to fill out a questionnaire upon arrival.

  • Please plan for extended time for your service.

  • There could also be extra cost to color and highlighting services. It’s no one’s fault your color hasn't been done in awhile, but we have to compensate for our costs.

  • Beverage service will be suspended.

  • Call us when you arrive and we will let you know how to proceed

BLOW OUTS

In addition to these changes we are also suspending blow outs. Many states aren't allowing blow dry service of any kind. This is not a requirement of us, but we believe its the right thing to do. It will make things more sanitary and allow us to accommodate as many people as possible.

APPOINTMENTS

Scheduling begins May 18th. If you had an appointment during the time we have been closed, we will contact you beginning on May 18th. We are going to do our best to keep things in a chronological order. In other words, we want to keep the same order of appointments if possible.  We feel it is fair to prioritize those clients who already had an appointment scheduled. If you did not have an appointment scheduled, don't worry. We will get you on the schedule. However, we need to get everyone who had an appointment back on the schedule first. Then we can go back to normal scheduling. Our online booking will reopen no later than our reopening day, May 25th.

Thanks to all of you for supporting us during this time and we could never have survived this without the love and support from our clients and friends; who we consider family. We are all in this together and we are looking forward to seeing each and every one of you again soon!

UPDATE: Reopening May 25!

It looks like we have an official date when we can reopen! Governor Beshear announced that hair salons will be able to reopen on May 25th. Just please, bear with us for awhile. We don't know yet what our restrictions are going to be other than wearing masks. More than likely, we will be limited to 10 people in the salon at a time. We are going to plan that way until we hear otherwise. It will take us some time to arrange everything.

We want to get it right and we have hundreds of missed appointments. We will do our best to be fair when it comes to scheduling your appointment. We also want to wait to open our online booking until we get everyone who was previously on the schedule moved to a new spot. Our goal is to only move your appointment once and get you a guaranteed appointment with us. This is not an easy undertaking so we please ask for your patience. We value each and every person that choses us as their salon and calls Wolf & Ryan their salon home. We will all get back on track eventually. We’re all in this together as a salon family. We could never do it without each and every person that choses to do business with us. So, thank you.

There are still several weeks until we reopen and we are quite sure that in that time we will get guidance from the state board of cosmetology and the sate and federal governments on operational procedures. We want to do our best to be as accommodating as possible and still maintain our standards for customer service. Things will be different when we reopen. We will have new policy. We will have new schedules; but we will still be providing excellent customer service and the best artistic and technical skill that we have.  Our entire team is very excited to get back to doing what we love and we can’t wait to see all of you again. We will keep you informed though email, the website and social media as everything develops. Hang in there with us, we want to take care of you and we can’t wait to see all of you again soon.

UPDATE: Home Color Kits Now Available!

It looks like we may need to be closed for awhile. We understand that going a few months without coloring your hair could be difficult. While we can’t offer haircuts, we’ve found a way to get you through this! We can’t sell you our professional color but we’ve partnered with dpHUE to offer at home kits. Don’t buy your color from the drugstore! Use high quality color. It will make our jobs easier when you come back. You can order from us on this site and it ships directly to you! If you need help choosing a color, don’t hesitate to email us at wolfandryansalon@gmail.com and just ask! We have your formula on file if you get your hair colored with us; and if you’re not a current customer, just send us a pic and we can help you choose the right color. These kits are for gray root touch up ONLY and if you get your hair colored blonde, don’t even think about trying to color it. Sorry. You can browse HERE and we will see you guys soon!

UPDATE: NO HOUSE CALLS!

We believe that if we refrain from one on one contact, we can slow the spread of this virus. Many people can be asymptomaic, and still spread to others. During this entire crisis we have worked very hard for our public health and not once have we considered making a house call. Let’s put the lives of ourselves, neighbors and loved ones at the top of our priorities right now. If we work together, and we all do our parts, we can reopen sooner. We want to be open. We need you to help us get there by waiting for your hairdresser.

UPDATE: You can now shop online with us!

Click HERE to shop online for haircare while we are temporarily closed. Just fill up your cart and use our secure checkout! Items may arrive at different times and in different packaging depending on what you order. Our distributors are shipping directly to you and not all items will come from the same distributor. UPDATE: Wolf & Ryan is closed due to a mandatory closure of all salons in the state of Kentucky until further notice.

To our valued customers,

We know times are crazy right now and we all have to adjust to a new normal while we all do our part to contain Covid-19 infections. As cosmetologists, we receive extensive training on disinfection, sanitation and bacteriology. It is honestly a bigger part of cosmetology school than actual hairdressing. At Wolf & Ryan, it is not something we take lightly. We want all of our customers to be aware of some new policy that will take effect immediately. These measures will help all of us to contain this virus; and please know that our public health and the individual health of our customers is a top priority right now.

First of all, we will remain open but with some significant changes to our daily operations. We have implemented new staff policy that limits our interactions with each other and a new cleaning and disinfecting schedule. We have also implemented changes to the way our customers receive their service. We are going to do all that we feasibly can while still operating.

If you have concerns about being in public and do not wish to keep your appointment, we totally understand. We have never made it our policy to impose a fee for cancellations and we don't intend to do so now. If you no call, no show, you will be charged like always. In other words, our cancellation policy will not change. We have long understood that life can happen or you can be sick at the last minute and need to cancel. At the same time, we wish that you extend the same courtesy to us. If any staff member does not feel well, we are asking them to stay home.

New Policies:

  • We are deep cleaning and disinfecting 3x per day and disinfecting touched surfaces between every client and hand washing between clients

  • We are washing our hands between each cash or card transaction

  • We ask that you provide contactless payment if you can. We accept apple pay and contactless chip cards.

  • Do not come in sick. If you are sick you will be asked to leave

  • Do not invite or bring anyone unnecessary to your appointment. They will be asked to wait in the car.

  • If you bring a caregiver or driver, we also ask that they wait in the car after helping you in the door.

  • We may need to reschedule your appointment due to crowding concerns. We are doing our best to limit the number of people in the salon.

  • Take your temp before coming in for your appointment. If you have a fever, stay home.

  • Wash your hands as soon as you get checked in for your appointment. We have plenty of soap.

  • If you arrive early, we ask that you call us but remain in the car to let us know you are here.  Then we can tell you how to proceed. Again, we are trying to limit the number of people in the shop.

  • We are suspending beverage service to limit transfer contact. Feel free to bring your own beverage.

With these changes, we hope to do our part in continuing to limit the spread of Covid-19. Please bear with us, as we all adjust to some sudden changes. Health is our top priority and if we all work together, we can get through these times with a minimal impact of this disease on our community. But its going to take all of us. We are taking all of the recommendations from the CDC, KDPH, WHO, Gov. Beshear and our federal government very seriously. If you have any special concerns, please reach out to us. We are here for you and we will make it through this together.

All the best,

Wolfpack
